Description
Brice Gelot is a self-taught french photographer known for his raw, powerful black-and-white photojournalism documenting street culture and the tattoo community. Working exclusively with 35mm film, his work reflects a gritty, uncompromising visual language.
His work focuses on capturing the gritty reality of life on the streets, shedding light on people on the margins of society, gang members, homeless and drug addicts. Driven by the belief that images can spark awareness and social change, his photography addresses issues such as poverty, violence, social justice, and human rights. Alongside his documentary work, he also develops long-term portrait projects featuring artists, musicians, celebrities, and collaborations with Playboy.
His photographs have been published and exhibited internationally, including at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Art Basel Miami, and La Biennale di Venezia.
In 2025, he released a major body of work in two book editions, based on long-term projects developed in cities such as Naples, Los Angeles, Ho Chi Minh City, and Mexico City. Committed to freedom of expression, Brice remains actively engaged in the field and takes a strong, uncompromising stance through his work.
